Q:

Came up from Texas?

Lasker:

Yes, but they came really for a wedding in Washington - a friend's wedding. They were here for a couple of days and they came to this party, gay and --

Q:

-- a party here at the house?

Lasker:

Yes, there were 50 people for dinner and there was dancing -- a mixture of people came. The house was decorated and I had lots of flowers.

Q:

Tell me, have you been down to Texas in this past year?

Lasker:

Yes. I was there in April with Mr. and Mrs. Laurance Rockefeller and Mrs. Astor. We had a wonderful time going to San Antonio, which is a most enchanting town, and a splendid party was given by friends of the Johnsons called Mr. and Mrs. Steve We also went to the inauguration of a small park in a nearby town, Fredericksburg, where the whole countryside turned out to see President and Mrs. Johnson in an open car.

Q:

That was the birthplace of Admiral Nimitz

Lasker:

Yes.
