Q:

Yes.

Oakes:

Oh, sure. I think probably I called her after getting some strongly anti-Westway stuff that impressed me. During '77, during this sort of gestation period, I was much influenced by stuff I got from Benstock's Clean Air Fund. I must have called them to get more information because I was impressed by some of the stuff that they sent out. I don't know if you're familiar with the kind of constant and extremely detailed and very well-informed and almost always accurate -- as far as I could test it -- really accurate information, always on the negative side of Westway, that Benstock put out.

Q:

Yes.

Oakes:

If she didn't call me -- she may have called me after my first piece, which would have been late, I guess, in '77. But if she didn't, I sure called her, and I had a lot of contact with her during the ensuing -- I never met anybody who knew as much about the subject and in as much detail. Yes. She was the main one. Not the only one that I was in touch with on that side. [snapping his fingers] I can't remember his name, but anyway there were a couple of other men, lawyers, very good lawyers, who were opposing it, too, all part of that anti- Westway group. The same group or groups that you're talking about.

Q:

Let me pause here.
