About Columbia's Nu Omicron Chapter

Columbia University’s Nu Omicron Chapter of the Order of Omega was founded in May 7, 1993. After over ten years of active involvement in the Morningside Community and Columbia campus, it became inactive in 2005. However, the Order was reinstated in 2009, as the newly initiated members of the Order were pivotal in establishing its presence on campus. Today, the Order has grown to thirty members and is planning events, working with Philanthropic and Community service organizations, and attempting to create closer ties within the Inter-Greek council.

The Columbia Chapter of Order of Omega has members from all four Pan-Hellenic sororities and five (?) of fraternities on campus. The number of students initiated each year may not exceed 3% of the total number of enrolled Greek undergraduates at the beginning of the academic year, or 15 members, whichever number is greater.
