Annual Dinner, n. A black-tie affair that draws active Philos and illustrious Geezers alike. Dinner always includes the presentation of the Philolexian Award for Literary Excellence to the dinner's guest of honor, as well as the Thomas J. Vinciguerra Leadership Award to a senior who has made distinguished contributions to the Society; all this is followed by a postprandial debate in classic Philo style. Though the resolution for the debate is typically somewhat more dignified than usual, the speeches are markedly less so. All current members are highly encouraged to attend, as their costs are partially underwritten by the alumni association.
