We are no longer accepting applications for winter trip.

The BCUPHS Alternative break trips seek to create an opportunity for a
diverse group of 15 or fewer students to travel domestically and
internationally to learn more about public health fieldwork and working with
other cultures.  Trips are offered twice a year, during winter break and
spring break.

Students who travel with BCUPHS alternative breaks (called trippers) will
have several responsibilities, including:
1. Fundraising
Trippers are expected to contribute the cost of the trip.  This may come in
the form of personal contribution, or more likely, through fundraising
efforts.  Your fundraising and trip coordinators will work closely with you
to help you meet your fundraising goals and to ensure that you are able to
pay for the trip.
2. Education
Trippers are expected to participate in educational and cultural preparation
in advance of the trip, and in educational activities after the trip.  Since
the objective of these trips is to educate undergraduates about public
health, your education coordinator will assist you in learning more about
the area that you will travel to and the relevant public health concerns in
that area.  Additionally, after the trip, your trip coordinator will assist
you and your fellow trippers in using the experience to effect some sort of
meaningful change back home in NYC.  This may include
discussions/presentations to the student body to educate others about public
health issues, undertaking a fundraising project for a certain public health
issue, or some other relevant outlet for the experience.
3. Traveling
Trippers will also travel with other trippers and their coordinators to
their destination!  They will participate in planned activities while at the
site.

Students with any interest in public health from any discipline or
persepctive are encouraged to apply to join the winter break trip.  Please send your
completed tripper applications to bcuphs.ab@gmail.com.
