Tearoom

The actual tearoom is a small two-mat space reserved for the host and one guest. The two tatami mats clearly give the sense of two distinct spaces by using the black border of the tatami mats to separate the host and guest. The walls are gray, giving the sense of rusticity and plainness. The white paper pasted on the bottom of the walls is a refreshing contrast to the dark walls. Aspects of the room are darkened, but the many windows provide massive amounts of light. The tearoom has access to the tokonoma, tsuginoma and anteroom.
