The requirements for this course include a mid-semester quiz (20%), a final exam (35%), an 8-10 page research paper (30%), class participation and smaller class related projects/exercises including a 2-3 page “pet pathology” paper (total 15%). The specifics of the assignments will be discussed with the class. Since participation makes up a significant percentage of the grade, the term grade of students who miss more than three classes without formal documentation from their dean of chronic illness or extended family emergency will be reduced by an entire grade.
