Betsey Lund, born Bergit Høljesdatter in Gransherad, Telemark, Norway in 1834 and emigrated to the United States in 1842. Married a Knud Hanson in 1856; had four children with him; he died in the Andersonville POW camp in 1865. She married Peter Nicolai Lund in 1869, and had four more children with him, including their son Charles or Carl (my mother's father) in 1869. She died in Winnebago, Wisconsin, in 1926.
