Systems biology and evolution
I am interested in the physiological and eco-evolutionary processes underlying the generation and maintenance of phenotypic diversity. I develop and apply computational and experimental tools to identify functional and evolutionary mechanisms shapinig genomes, network structures and metabolic traits. My research is based on the idea that comparative and evolutionary biology are powerful tools to uncover general biological mechanisms from genomic and phenotypic data. My ultimate goal is to enable applied solutions in therapeutic, industrial and environmental settings.
