Sehr geehrter Herr!

Wir beehren uns, Ihnen heute mitzuteilen, daß Ihr Buch „Musikalische Theorien und Phantasien“ soeben fertiggestellt und zur Versendung an den Buchhandel gelangt ist. Von den vertragsmäßigen 12 Freiexemplaren übersenden wir Ihnen 10 broschierte gleichzeitig per Post. 2 gebundene folgen anfangs nächster[?] Woche.

Entsprechend den zwischen uns getroffenen Vereinbarungen fügen wir Rechnung über die Herstellungskosten, sowie die Insertions-, Vertriebs- und Geschäftskosten in Höhe von MK. 4300.30 hier[?] bei.

Wir geben der Hoffnung Ausdruck, daß die Ausstattung {2} Ihren Beifall und das Buch im übrigen einen guten Erfolg finden möge.

Dear Sir,

We have the honor today of informing you that your book Musical Theories and Fantasies is finished and is ready to be shipped out to the book trade. Of the contractually agreed2 twelve free copies we are dispatching ten paperbound to you be the same post. Two bound copies will follow at the beginning of next week.

In accordance with the agreements made between us, we enclose herewith our account of the production costs as well as of the advertising, marketing, and commercial costs, to a total of 4,300.30 Marks.

We venture to express our hope that the finished product may meet with {2} your approval, and the book moreover with great success.

It is probable that S forwarded it to Baron Alphons von Rothschild for payment: S was contractually obligated to reimburse the publisher within fourteen days of publication, thus by November 18, and Rothschild had undertaken to bear the costs.
