Herrn [/] Dr. Heinrich Schenker
Wien III.

Sehr geehrter Herr Doktor!

Infolge Ihres gef.

Dear Doctor,

In accordance with your letter of the 24th inst2 we have sent a copy of your New Musical Theories and Fantasies to the archive of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna, to be charged to your account.

We learn with interest that we may expect the manuscript of vol. II of your work in a short while, work on this having been interrupted in recent months.3

We consider the pre-release publication of a {verso} selection from your vol. II in the Beethoven-Jahrbuch to be worth doing on the assumption that the material quoted will be accompanied by an announcement of the forthcoming publication.

With kind regards, we remain
Yours truly,
[ sign’d: ] Heirs of the J.G. Cotta Bookdealership
