Wohlgeboren
Herrn Prof. Dr. Heinrich Schenker,
St. Anton a/ Arlberg.
-------------------------

Sehr geehrter Herr Doctor !

ergebenst
[ sign’d: ] Emil Hertzka

Dear Doctor,

Having returned from my holiday travels, I find your est’d letter from the end of July1, in which you wish a copy of Ornamentation to be sent to Dr. Grunsky.

The new edition of Ornamentation should arrive from the printers in the next few days and I shall not fail to carry out your wishes immediately.

We are, of course, very willing to send review and voucher[?] copies to others whom you may identify for us, and we ask you kindly to let us know your est’d wishes in this respect.

We ask you also to give us precise notification of your present address so that some copies of the new edition can be forwarded to you at the same time.

I am delighted to be able to inform you today that my continuing negotiations with Eberle2 over the { verso } Niloff Instrumentation Tables|3 have made sufficient progress for us to have every prospect of concluding the deal. You can well imagine that it was, even in our minds, from the beginning never a matter of the usually expected financial4 gain, since I was able to procure from Eberle only such concessions as enabled us to sell at a retain price of 1 Mark without loss.5 This we have almost procured.

Do you think that it is not now too late for these Tables3 to appear in October? Publication any earlier would scarcely be possible.

In looking forward to your advice as soon as possible, I remain

With kind regards,
Yours truly,
[ sign’d: ] Emil Hertzka
