1 i.e. WSLB 39.

2 "analytische Herausgabe" underlined in crayon by S. The phrase is not one generally used by S, hence probably coined by H. The contract for the edition of J. S. Bach, Chromatic Fantasy & Fugue is OC 52/423, October 17, 1909. UE took delivery of the edition from the printer on October 21, 1910.

3 S announced his readiness to hand over his MS of the edition on September 20, 1909 (WSLB 42); the hand-over must have happened during the week beginning September 27 (OC 52/38).

4 H supplied these two editions (and one other) on July 1, 1909: WSLB 41.
