Sehr geehrter Herr Professor !

In vorzüglicher Hochschätzung
ergebenst
[ sign’d: ] Emil Hertzka.

Dear Professor,

In response to your est’d letter,1 I beg to inform you that the manuscript of your Bach edition2 will certainly be going to the printers in a day or so, and that all the arrangements for this have already been made.

In view of the unusual backlog of work at the printers, however, it will to my mind be completely impossible to get hold of proofs as early as the Easter holidays.3 Please, therefore, do not count on doing the corrections at that time.

I hope that it will be possible for you to attend to the proofs in the month of April. In all probability, the engraving at Eberle4 will be finished by then.

With kind regards,
Yours truly,
[ sign’d: ] Emil Hertzka
