Sehr geehrter Herr Doktor !

Von Ihren freundl. Aufklärung¹ in Bezug auf das Fehlen der Vorzeichnungen haben wir Kenntnis genommen. Vielleicht liesse sich als Fussnote eine ganz kleine Anmerkung anbringen,² denn nachdem Sie selbst die Anfrage der Druckerei als einen höchst entschuldbaren Irrtum bezeichnen, wäre es ja nicht unmöglich, dass auch andere Leute diesem Irrtume unterliegen.

Die Korrekturen bitten wir Sie an uns zurückzuschricken da der Verkehr mit der Druckerei jetzt nur durch uns gepflogen wird.

Dear Doctor,

We have taken note of your kind clarification¹ regarding the absence of signatures. Perhaps just a short explanation could be slipped in as a footnote,² for since you yourself describe the printer’s inquiry as an altogether excusable error, it is not inconceivable that other people might be subject to the same error.

We ask you please to return the corrected proofs to us, since the workflow to and from the printer is how being handled via ourselves.
