1 Fritz Mendl: Sofie Deutsch’s brother, leading Austrian industrialist.

2 Hugo Friedmann: attorney involved with the estate of Sofie Deutsch, to whom S had drafted letters on March 12 and 14, 1917 (OC 1/19–20; OC 16/32v), and from whom he had received a (non-extant) letter c. March 16, 1917, which he characterized as “Talmudic” (in OC 1/23, March 17, 1917). “vor längerer Zeit ... Friedmann” underlined in crayon by S.

3 Disclaimer: Presumably OJ 14/40[b], presumably dated June 17, 1917.

SUMMARY:
T corrects S and suggests he make inquiries with Friedmann.
