III. Reisnerstrasse 38.

Sehr geehrter Herr Professor !

Dear Professor,

Since our Mr Rebay tried in vain to speak with you in person yesterday afternoon and this morning, we take the liberty of inquiring by this means by what date we can count definitively on delivery of vol. 2 of the Handel Organ Works, U.E. 937.1

We have orders for this item on hand, since it has already been in our catalogues for two years, and we are acutely embarrassed as to what we should give out to our subscribers as the reason for its non-appearance.

If we are not in a position to release the work within a short space of time, we would regrettably be obliged possibly to assign the work so someone else.

We remain
With kind regards

1 For the previous communications, see OC 52/18, dated November 20, 1905 and OC 52/19, November 30, 1905. For the background to this, see the undated handwritten note OC 52/390, which includes the remark: "Handel Concertos, 4-hands. When, after publication of vol. I, I sought a modest improvement in the honorarium (100 Kroner) for vol. II, vol. II was simply summarily taken away from me and given to S.[?] Brandt-Buys." See also OC 52/394, dated October 18, 1904; and the outcome in OC 52/395, July 5, 1906, and OC 52/396, September 28, 1906.

SUMMARY:
[Handel Organ Concertos, vol. 2:] From UE management: Rebay has tried to reach him to inquire firm date for delivery; UE have long-standing orders for volume; Committee may have to re-assign editorship if not received soon.
