Sehr verehrter Herr Doktor!

Dear Doctor,

Please excuse my delay in answering your query:1 Dr Ludwig L.,2 Berlin, Charlottenburg 5, Königsweg 31. —My correspondence with van Hoboken3 is unfortunately not yet concluded and thus I can still report no outcome to you. Perhaps it were better if you let noth|4 nothing slip to him about it; given his sensitivity, a misunderstanding could easily result. I hope, though, soon to be able to report something conclusive and good to you concerning my book. Meanwhile {verso} I am trying to promote vigorously in Hamburg, where I was visiting a student. (Forgive please, the ink has run out)

With warmest greetings,
Yours,
[ sign’d: ] Oswald Jonas
