Handwritten letter by Schenker to Hertzka (UE), dated January 6, 1914

Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor !

Handwritten letter from Schenker to Hertzka (UE), dated January 6, 1914

Dear Director,

Enclosed please find the—in my opinion—excellent article1, which has come my way by pure chance. Be so kind as to return it to me as soon as you come by a copy yourself. Perhaps you could crib from it in a concert programme, just to punish the “Moltkes”2 of Vienna. I have to laugh ...

In thanking you cordially for the regard that you show toward my endlessly many-sided and difficult work, I declare myself ready to see you before your travels, and can tell you in this respect that it would be possible only tomorrow, Wednesday, or not until Saturday evening.3 I leave it to you, to let me know any time from 7 o’clock either as early as tomorrow by telegraph or by letter for Saturday, and to decide which coffee house. With best wishes.

Yours truly,
[ signed: ] H. Schenker
