Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor!

I[h]r ergebener

Dear Director,

Many thanks for the “proofs”.1 They will all be returned as soon as possible! But you are forgetting to return the Kopfermann2 letter to me, and so I expressly come back to it. It will be quite long enough in any case before I succeed—if ever—in my plan.3 So I beg you to send the letter back by return.

With best wishes,
Yours truly,
[ signed: ] H. Schenker
