COMMENTARY: FOOTNOTES: 1 i.e. Waldheim-Eberle, A.G. (engraving and letterpress). 2 Presumably the printers wish to perform the page make-up and produce plates from these, so that the galleys can be dismantled to provide type for other purposes. Korrekturen-Spalten (lit. proofs for correction in columns) and Spalten-Abzüge (lit. column-proofs) are taken here to be synonymous with Fahnen (galley-proofs). The music examples in the original edition appear to be in movable type, hence would be broken down to produce note type-elements ( Noten-Typen ) after use.
