Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor!

H. Prof. Röntgen (Amsterdam)1 bittet mich, ihm meine Bach-Ausgabe selbst — d.i.: U.E. No.548 — zu vermitteln.

Ihren[?] ergeb.

Dear Director,

Prof. Röntgen (Amsterdam)1 has asked me personally to arrange for him to receive [a copy of] my [C.P.E.] Bach edition—i.e. U.E. No. 548—for him. He tells me that he has been constantly dissatisfied with the Bülow edition (Peters), and I think it would be prudent, in the light of this dissatisfaction, to see whether Prof. Röntgen would replace the Bülow edition by the UE edition, at least at the Amsterdam Conservatory.

I recently saw a copy of my Ornamentik (2nd edition) in the Guttmann [ sic ] Music Shop2 without the [ corrigenda ] sheet that you had intended to insert. Have you abandoned it, or was this merely an oversight?

Just while I am writing: Will it really be possible to release the [ Instrumentation ] Table in October?

With grateful thanks, and kind regards,
Yours truly,
[ sign'd: ] H. Schenker
