Handwritten letter from Schenker to Hertzka (UE), dated April 22, 1908

[ UE stamp: ] 5084

Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor!

H Schenker

Dear Director,

I will deliver my work tomorrow and am truly grateful for being able to hold on to the final gatherings for the few [extra] days. Precisely the point of the monograph (–from now on it this will be handsome and respectable–), namely the ornaments in Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven1 have been worked out in § in the clearest possible way, guarding against any misunderstanding2 on the part of all the European editors. You really must see it for yourself.

With kind regards,
Yours truly,
[ sign'd: ]H. Schenker
