Climate Change: An overview of current progress
Dr. Gavin Schmidt, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies
I will give an overview of work being done to support the next IPCC report (due in 2013), the role of model projections in the policy discussions and ways in which all stakeholder communities can more constructively process and assess the information being produced. I will particular focus on new results from Earth System Models that allow for the first time coherent and consistent assessments of impacts on specific emissions on multiple sectors - including climate change, but also including air pollution, agricultural output and public health.
