A profile of Signe Bendix Jepsen (M.A., 2003) is featured in the inaugural issue of Superscript, a magazine of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Jepsen works as a humanitarian affairs officer at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).  Her primary responsibility is to prepare early-warning analytical reports on emerging crises and to provide contingency planning support for humanitarian emergencies.

After graduating from Columbia, Jepsen continued her studies at the University of Copenhagen and was about to enter a Ph.D. program when she was offered a position at the United Nations.  Her career there has also included positions at the Security Council Secretariat and the Division for Palestinian Rights.
