Bio:
Dr. Samet joined the School of Social Work in 2010. She previously held the position of Research Scientist at New York State Psychiatric Institute/Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University where she was involved in studies of psychiatric comorbidity. She also served as a trainer in comorbidity assessment and diagnosis in the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Clinical Trials Network and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) Social Work Curriculum. Dr. Samet is a developer of the Psychiatric Research Interview for Substance and Mental Disorders (PRISM). She is a licensed certified social worker with over 13 years of clinical experience in parolee rehabilitation, mental health, and substance abuse treatment.

Dr. Samet’s research focus is mental health comorbidities and psychiatric measurement. She is a member of the Executive Board of the Columbia University School of Social Work-Federation Employment and Guidance Services (F.E.G.S.) Partnership, a research-practice initiative aimed at identifying, implementing, and testing best practices in the treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery of individuals with mental disabilities.
