Bio:
Since graduating from CUSSW in 2000 with her M.S. and in 2009 with her Ph.D., Traci has been developing and testing technology-based interventions to prevent substance abuse and other risky behaviors among adolescents. In particular, her work focuses on tailoring interventions for girls and urban youth. Though her past work has focused on New York City area youth, she is interested in using web-based interventions to reach a national sample of youths. Traci also serves on the Institutional Review Board for the Morningside campus and is an adjunct professor at CUSSW.
Research Interests:
- Adolescent substance abuse prevention
- Gender-specific interventions
- Family-based interventions
- Urban youths
- Computer-, web-, and application-based interventions
- Online data collection

Current Projects:
- Developing and testing an alcohol abuse prevention program for urban youth via CD-ROM
- Developing and testing a family-based intervention to reduce girls drug abuse by CD-ROM and Internet
- Developing and testing a web-based intervention for girls and their mothers who reside in public housing to reduce the risks associated with girls’ drug use, increase mother-daughter connectedness, and improve girls dietary practices
