George Washington Bridge

The GWB Bus Terminal shuttle transports passengers between the Medical Center and the George Washington Bridge Port Authority Bus Terminal. View and download a PDF map and schedule here.

From the Medical Center, passengers can connect to the Intercampus Shuttle for service to Harlem Hospital and the Morningside Campus.

ID and Pass Validation System

In an effort to ensure that seats are available for the intended riders of the Fort Lee-GWB Shuttle, an ID and Pass validation process is in place. Ridership is limited to University employees with the following forms of identification:

1. CU Transit Sticker affixed to valid Columbia University ID. CU Transit Stickers are available to University employees and students:

    • assigned to park at the GWB parking terminal. GWB parkers should contact the CUMC Parking office at 212-305-1056 to pick up a sticker if they will be utilizing shuttle service.
    • who work at the Parker Plaza building in Fort Lee. Eligible employees who work at Parker Plaza should contact the Columbia Transportation office at 212-854-3382 or [email protected] to pick up a sticker.
2. Single-Use Shuttle Pass: University employees attending training sessions or other University business at Parker Plaza are entitled to a round-trip shuttle pass. Temporary passes are available by contacting the Columbia Transportation office at 212-854-3382 or [email protected]. If you have an urgent request, you may also call 212-342-0582 during the following hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Accessibility

The Intercampus Shuttle is fully ADA-compliant. The Evening Shuttle route is serviced exclusively by ADA-compliant Public Safety buses.

 

Location

At the Medical Center in the A.M., the shuttle stops at the northwest corner of 169th Street and Broadway, facing west.

At the Medical Center in the P.M., the shuttle stops at the northeast corner of 169th Street and Ft. Washington Avenue, facing west.

At the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal, the shuttle stops on the street level, on the southeast corner of 178 Street and Fort Washington Avenue. The GWB Port Authority Bus Terminal is located at 179 Street and Fort Washington Avenue.

Shuttle Buses

The GWB route is serviced exclusively by Academy coach buses.

 

Notes

The GWB Bus Terminal Shuttle runs Monday through Friday, excluding University holidays.

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All riders must present a valid University ID upon boarding the Shuttle.
