Printing Quotas

1. Basic Account Printing Option

Basic account holders have the option of pre-purchasing pages at the AcIS Computing Support Center. The cost for laser printing is $0.10 per page, sold in $1 increments. Purchased pages are automatically added to your account and can be used for printing at any print station. Purchased pages carry over from week to week, as long as your computer account remains valid.

2. Print Quotas For Extended Accounts

One hundred (duplex or simplex) sheets of laser printing per week (known as the printing quota) are provided with student extended and faculty/TA instructor accounts. The printing quota is calculated per sheet of paper; not per printed side. Unused printing quota pages do not carry over to the next week. Printing quotas may be used for printing at any AcIS computer facility. Users requiring more laser printing may purchase additional pages at the AcIS Computing Support Center; the cost is $0.10 per page, sold in $1 increments. Additional purchased pages carry over from week to week, and remain available for as long as your computer account remains valid.

3. Checking The Number of Remaining Pages

To find out how many pages are currently available for printing on your account select the "Pages" desk accessory under the Apple menu on the top left corner of the screen from an AcIS Macintosh computer. From UNIX, type pages at the $ prompt, or type pages -v to see how many pages you have available, as well as a detailed listing of where you have printed in the past week.
