Auditory Nerve
In vivo Single Unit Auditory Nerve Recording in the Gerbil Each dot represents the timing of an auditory nerve fiber spike. Stimulus waveform in RED. We record from the auditory nerve and use the auditory nerve activity to help us understand the micromechanics of the cochlea. Question we ask include, but not limited to, how the hair cells are mechanically excited, what basilar membrane motion and/or Organ of Corti motion is need to excite the hair cells...etc.Click to enlarge.
