The CLIMB Toolkit will tie together the new and existing technologies into a single framework for the flexible generation of metadata from scholarly texts.  This modular application will provide a degree of functional integration for the disparate processes that are involved in CLIMB-based metadata generation.

A further key goal is to provide a platform for the operational testing of the Toolkit in such a way that metadata generation strategies can be captured and saved as 'profiles' for further refinement or use in other projects. This feature, coupled with basic logging information, will enable us to capture actual user decisions and strategies for further evaluation and as feedback for the refinement and extension of CLIMB tools in later phases of the project.
