In other words, into the general fund of the school? Or in effect.

Clark:

Oh, sure. I do believe that religion should be a personal and private matter and not supported by government. And by the way, I think that the churches should feel this strongly too, because if the government starts getting involved in financial support for religious purposes, that would be too close to government determining what religious purposes should be supported, or what religion should be supported, you know. That to me would be quite contrary to democracy.

Or to paraphrase, there can be no free lunch.

Clark:

That's right.

Q:

There cannot be money given with no strings.

Clark:

With no strings.
