backing you, and condemning Kenneth Clark as an obstreperous,” something like, “bull headed” -- you know the names that I'm usually called--

Dave, who was my friend, you know, and who was telling me to stick it out, he came out with all of this. And Adam just let him talk. And at the end Adam said, “Good work, my boy. We've got it all set.”

He didn't mention a word about the fact that I was sitting there, inadvertently bugging their conversation.

When he finished he said, “Good. Good. We're going to move.” Then the phone conversation was ended.

Adam said, “See what I told you? Now, you thought they were on your side. You thought you could depend on them. Kenneth, you can't depend on anybody in this business. You gotta make it while you can. You gotta get it on your own. Because it's a dog eat dog”-- you know, he went on. “Don't be stupid.

Then he repeated, “With your brains and my power, we could make millions..”

Q:

I wanted to ask you further about this remark, the splitting of the money. What was he really talking about here?

Clark:

Talking about the grant. Talking about millions of dollars for the support of this program, you know.

Q:

Only for the support of the program, or was he suggesting here that some of this could be skimmed?
