Harvard where he was criticizing Harvard and Derek Bok was defending. There's also an element of anti-elitism involved in this thing. He picks on Harvard for two reasons. One, it's very well known, therefore it will make headlines whenever he picks on Harvard, whereas, if he picked on RPI it would wouldn't make headlines. And secondly, there is, strangely enough, in this very conservative Republican administration, a considerable degree of populism. I forget whether we discussed why President Reagan. Or Regan?

Reagan.

Heiskell:

Reagan. Very confusing. We've got to get rid of this other guy. [laughter] Otherwise, I'll never get it straight. President Reagan didn't appear at the Harvard 350th, but I th-

Q:

Yes we did discuss this.

Heiskell:

I think it has the same roots, namely he was going to appear somewhere he was going to appear in some small midwestern college. And its part and parcel of the whole-

Anything else of really major interest occur at yesterday's meeting, that you thought was very interestng?

Heiskell:

Yeah, well, just for the record, so that we can find out how good they are, we had the Harvard management corporation which is the group that manages our investments which amount to about four
