Q:

Who was responsible for Bill Bullitt?

Heiskell:

I forget whose idea it was. We had used Bill Bullitt earlier, sometime in 1940, before he became ambassador to Paris. I can't remember whether it was Harry's idea, or whose idea to do that story. As a matter of fact, I believe Bill Bullitt suggested it actually. I think it was his idea.

Q:

But when you say the staff was horrified I take it that Luce wasn't horrified.

Bill Bullitt. I rather think it was Bill's idea first that he expressed in a letter or something and then it expanded into that piece which really rocked everybody in the company and most people
