It's the 28th of January--is that correct?

Heiskell:

Yesterday was the 27th, so I guess it has to be.

1987. We're at 870 U.N. Plaza. This is for the Columbia Oral History Office. This is Jessica Holland. Would you state and spell your name, please?

Heiskell:

My name is Andrew Heiskell: H-e-i-s-k-e-1-1.

Thanks.

Where we left off yesterday was talking about the various major memoires that LIFE did through the years, and any connection you might have had with them. You had talked about Churchill, and I think you were going to talk about the Duke of Windsor.

Heiskell:

Yes.

Go ahead. What happened? What were some of your recollections?

Heiskell:

Well, we wanted to do the story of Windsor in some way or the other in LIFE. And I forget who first contacted him--whether it
