It made a dilemma for you, did it not?
Then Where Sargent Shriver got into it I decided that it wasn't going to be all that bad, and I did give him some support and I supported Shriver who's been a friend, and his wife, for a long time. I supported at least 50 Congressional or Senatorial candidates.
What percentage of them came through?
I think about 85 percent were elected, including some new ones like Congressman Aboureszk now Senator from South Dakota -- he won when McGovern couldn't even carry his own state. And I supported Floyd Haskell of Colorado, who defeated Gordon Allott.
And of course your friend Rogers came through.
