Q:

There's a plethor of such drugs.

Lasker:

They were developed about 20 years ago, and these people never got any big recognition.

Q:

But there's a plethora of such drugs, isn't there?

Lasker:

Yes, but these were the first people to do it.

Q:

Has the decision been made on the awards for this wear?

Lasker:

Yes, The awards are going to be given to the World Health Organization for the/ world conqust of smallpox. It's been wiped out in all countries except one or two counties in Ethiopia. They'll be wiped out by the time of the awards.

Q:

Is there any thought that there'll ever be a reoccurence?

Lasker:

No. There isn't a thought, but I don't know what will happen. There's been a nervelous man in charge of it called Dr. Henderson. Then another award is going to Dr. who with a Dr. Berson devised a technique for measurement (a radio-immuune- sasay technigue) of hormones, of viruses of drugs in body tissue in urine and in the blood.
