But you yourself have no connection with the Russians.

Lasker:

I've met the delegation that came here to the Heart Institute, but I couldn't find out from them if they were doing anything that was either new on surgery or that they had any drugs that did anything new or reversed arteriosclerosis. I just don't thing they have anything that's different.

Q:

And they don't communicate very well, do they?

Lasker:

Well, and some don't speak any English. But those that spoke English and were amiable could very easily have said, “Yes, we do so-and-so,” I mean there's no reason not to say what they do.

Q:

And as for the British. . .

Lasker:

The British do not seem to be interested, norks have they made any effort to have any formal relationship. They send people over here and Amearicans go over there, but they don't have any effort in the sense that there's an effort between England and us in the sense that there's an effort between the
