Well, I think a lot of this is not terribly --
Well, now you had Mrs. Johnson (Mrs. Lady Bird Johnson) up here again last fall.
Yes. Well, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. and Mrs. Steves and Mrs. and Mrs. Laurance Rockefeller came here to spend the night on the weekend of the 7th of October. It was supposed to be a wonderful fall weekend. It was pouring rain, and poured constantly Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, we drove to Albany (N.Y.) in cars. It was so bad we couldn't even go in a helicopter, which Mr. Rockefeller had. We had lunch with Governor Carey, and then went to a marvelous exhibition that they have in the mall, the mall area. A hugh thing. It's the biggest exhibition area I've ever seen in my life, with a hugh show of American paintings.
Then we got in a helicopter and went to Woodstock, Vermont, to Mary Rockefeller's family home. We had an extremely pleasant few days there.
Without rain?
Well, no, it rained until the day we started to come home. It was really one of those terrible times, when you can't control the weather, and it casts a pall on the pleasure of it.
Well, then, later I gave a pleasant cocktail party in December and a dinner party for the Blairs, a large dinner party at La Grenouille (restaurant).
