Lasker:

No. But the bombing only affected a rather small area of the building, fortunately, and something that's repairable. The pictures that were damaged were big battle pictures.

Q:

Oh, they were?

Lasker:

Yes.

Q:

Well, now, on this particular occasion, you were over there only five days?

Lasker:

Yes. Only five days, but I must say I enjoyed myself very much.

Q:

Do you find it strenuous to fly that rapidly?

Lasker:

Not if you go on the Concorde. Because its only three hours and thirty to forty minutes, and you don't have time to get so tired as you normally get. You still have the time change that's hard to accustom yourself to, but it's much less tiring. It's tiring, but it's still less tiring.

I enjoyed it very much, because Deeda and I were able to do some shopping for --

Q:

Oh, she went with you?

Lasker:

Yes. Deeda was there. She didn't go with me. She was there, and she stayed there, and we shopped for some old mirrors and we went to various places to look at china and things that we enjoy looking for. We enjoyed ourselves, even though it was such a short time.
