Yes, I'll tell you about Syntex too. I went in January 1979 to see through Charlie Allen, Mr. Bowers, President of Syntex, and I urged them to be in touch with Mrs. Krim who was the head of the interferon research at Sloan-Kettering.
A charming man, Dr. White, who was the discoverer of thymosin -- which is a product of the thymus gland -- believed me. The others thought I must be crazy, because the product probably was almost unheard of by them. (cross talk)
You said he had all these senior scientists there.
Yes, they were there. Dr. White went to see Dr. Mathilde Krim and they finally made a contract as a result of pushing from behind with the help of a friend, Mr. Charlie Allen. He was involved in helping get the Syntex-Sloan Kettering Memorial Intereron Research group better financed.
