And this would be the dissemination of birth control?

Lasker:

Yes, information, you see, because you need teams of people to go out, you need supplies, you need trained people, you need to pay their salaries, you need educational materials you need all kinds of things, to get any place, to really move this. It's all very well, it's just in a talking stage until you get them and they don't ever have specific money to do anything with. It took India a long time to put any substantial money in their budget, and now they've only got about 400 million dollars for their five year plan, and I don't know whether they're going to use all of that, or but at any rate they do have this sizeable amount of money. But let's say all the rest of Asia, all of Africa -- they . . .

May I ask, what was the reaction of Professor Gardner to your --?

Lasker:

Professor Gardner agreed with me completely. He put the money in the recommendation. The recommendation and a story about it hit the front page of the New York Times. Now I want to tell you something that was one of the greatest
