message or a State of the Union message at the beginning of the year. Now, the State of the Union message has already been heard and it wasn't in the State of the Union message. We're now hoping it will be in the health message. I think a Presidential Commission reporting on population trends in this country and the world and the economic aspects of it would have a great deal of weight, don't you?

Q:

I don, yes.

Mrs. Lasker:

Even though there's a wider and wider agreement on the importance of population control.

Q:

It's almost a general agreement now.

Mrs. Lasker:

Oh no, there's the Catholics -- many Catholic Congressmen and Senators may still be opposed to it.

Q:

But isn't this an interesting development in Latin America -- they had a session in Chile on birth control and I understand there's one coming up in Columbia now in May.

Mrs. Lasker:

Yes. Well, this is thanks to some energetic men like Cass Canfield and General Draper and others who have gone and arranged these things,
