You didn't edit it out.
I certainly didn't edit it out. No. No. I think that was edited out, because that was a phrase which was in the original transcript, and which More magazine somehow got hold of and published before the book was published. More made a big sensational article on that. That's why I said earlier that so far as I know, More was the only one that really paid some attention to this.
And the rest of the press didn't pick it up.
Not at all. I had had a conversation with Punch about the question of editor- publisher relationships, and just in the course of our discussion I made this comment, which I believe doesn't actually appear in the book. I'd have to re-read it to be sure of that.
What you're telling us, though, is that the More excerpts were authentic.
Oh, there's no question of that. They got the transcript before it had been edited, because Argyris had sent the transcripts were around the building, there were a lot of people who had them. And I, of course, obviously didn't show them to anybody. I also
