don't know. Whether the prejudices against her are sufficient to prevent her from really having actual power or not, I don't know. But she never had any power.
She never was in the councils of the party. I remember that Paul Fitzpatrick who was the chairman of the New York State Democratic party came to see me one day. He said, “Who is this Mrs. Rosenberg? They say she comes from New York.”
I said, “Have you tried to find out?”
“Sure,” he said. “I've asked all the district and local leaders and nobody ever heard of her. Nobody knows her. Who is she?”
I told him she was somebody who jumped into the emergency work in the NRA. I never told Paul Fitzpatrick or another politician her whole story. The League of Women Voters of New York came to me and said, “Who is this Mrs. Rosenberg?” The New York branch of the General Federation of Women's Clubs came to me and said, “Who is this Mrs. Rosenberg?” The Council of Jewish Women came to me and said, “Who is this Mrs. Rosenberg?” In other words, she was not known among any of the general civic organizations.
She didn't get any social acceptance through this work, but she did get certain attentions. People did find out who she was. I'm sure the Council of Jewish Women found out who she was and have been nice to her, but that didn't
