It was also printed in Who's Who that I had married Paul Wilson.

A friend of mine on the West Coast, having a copy of this marriage certificate sent to her, with a covering letter which said, “This is who Frances Perkins really is, because she admits that she comes from Boston and was married to Paul Wilson. She's a Jewish immigrant girl who is sailing under fale colors,“ had been in college. She read it and wrote a letter to the local press, saying, ”I have received this. If I have, I'm sure many other people in this vicinity have received it. I was in college, and graduated in the same class with Frances Perkins. I know the date she graduated, which is the year 1902. If she was nineteen years old, as the license states, on the date of this marriage, then she must have been graduated from Mt. Holyoke College at the age of ten. Even though Frances Perkins was bright, she wasn't that bright. There were no girls ten years old in college.”

It was a letter to the editor of that paper, but of course it wasn't printed. She sent me a copy and I gave it to a number of people, but that doesn't interest people. The fact that I was Miss Watsky never got into the papers. If it did, I would have had a libel suit. They
