had been there looking at him--you know? But he wasn't around to look at him, and Roosevelt would say, “Oh all right, all right.”

I mean, I can almost see him do it. I never heard him say “all right.” I never heard them propose Truman to him, so that I only know by inference and by my knowledge of him, of what he did about other things at the same time. The way he let things go, if somebody made a strong push for them. But certainly, the selection of Truman proved to be a good selection.
