Africa, n. The month between September and November. So named after the fall 2007 trip to the Philomatheans during which, spurred by Ms. Schneider, we visited the local Masonic lodge and discovered in the hallway of giant portraits that there had existed a white man named Africa. J. Simpson Africa, to be precise.
