CUSSW Student Caucus & Groups

to book a room reservation.
Note: Virtual EMS is currently only available for student caucus and groups. Individual students seeking to reserve a room should fill out the Room Reservation Form.
The online system allows users to book a room reservation directly into the School of Social Work’s EMS system. The user must fill out all required fields and accommodations for the event or meeting. A final confirmation will be sent by the EMS coordinator for the official booking within two business days. Please note that a request must be made no less than 72 hours prior to the event. If you are not affiliated with Columbia University
Please review the Building Use Policy and complete the User Agreement. Then follow steps 1-4 under CUSSW "Faculty & Staff" above.
Room Reservation Guidelines
Room reservation requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the event.
An interval of 15 minutes for setup and cleanup is necessary between reservations.
Events must end by 1:00 a.m. No loud music may be played past midnight.
Live amplified music is not allowed at any time.
No food is allowed in classrooms.
On weekends and holidays, rooms are not pre-cleaned. On the Room Reservation Request Form you
must indicate if setup, cleanup or pre-cleaning is necessary.
If you check yes, your account will be billed. If you check no, you will
be responsible for your own setup, cleanup and pre-cleaning. If the
space is left untidy, your account will be billed for cleanup.
To cancel a reservation, email swrooms@columbia.edu at least two business days before the reserved date. Otherwise, you will be billed for any charges.
Setup, Cleanup, Custodial and Security Charges
Labor Charges (to set up and break down room):
Monday-Friday: $50/hour
1 hour minimum setup, 1 hour minimum breakdown
Saturday: $50/hour
4 hour minimum unless there is another event to share coverage
Sunday: $100/hour 4 hour minimum unless there is another event to share coverage
Custodial Charge (for cleanup before and after event):
$50/hour
1 hour minimum for cleanup before and after event, including weekends.
If custodial staff is needed during an event after 2:30 pm Monday-Friday and at any time on weekends, there is a 4 hour minimum.
Security Charge (applies after posted building hours): $50/hour
